When I started to look into Ubersuggest and its features, I thought, why not? They also have this lifetime deal at $290, which makes this SEO tool extremely low-priced compared to its competition.
The ultimate question is always: Does it deliver? And by this, I mean, does it provide accurate information about keywords? The main objective of using keyword tools is to gather accurate data, particularly on the competition level. If a tool provides unreliable information, even if it's free, it becomes useless.
So, how does Ubersuggest manage? My honest answer is that they are performing ok/good, especially considering the price. However, there is one issue, a bug, error, or something they code on purpose.
As I mentioned, I have a lifetime deal, so if you read this review, you will have honest thoughts.
First of all. Who is Neil Patel?
Neil Patel is the co-founder of NP Digital. He has been recognized as a top influencer on the web by The Wall Street Journal, one of the top 10 marketers by Forbes, and as having created one of the 100 most brilliant companies by Entrepreneur Magazine. Neil is also a New York Times bestselling author. He was acknowledged as a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 30 by President Obama and as a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 35 by the United Nations.
And this dude created Ubersuggest.
Key Features of Ubersuggest in 2024
Ubersuggest has tons of features. You get the most important one, but it can't compare to the depth SEO tools like Semrush and Hrefs give you. However, two months at Semrush is almost a lifetime deal at Ubersuggest. So, I guess you get what you pay for.
So, to continue this Ubersuggest review, I will now focus on what Ubersuggest offers instead of comparing it to much more expensive SEO tools. After all, you are reading this because you probably find other tools way too expensive, and you just want something that offers great functionality with the most important SEO features.
First we have the dashboard
The dasboard is clean and easy to maneuver. Most of it is self-explanatory, and you always see buttons with help or more options. For example, you search for a keyword and get the basic results like SEO difficulty, keyword volume, and so on. But you also see keyword ideas and content ideas in the same window. This helps a lot when it comes to speed and makes finding keywords easier.
Keyword Research & Website Analysis
Keyword research is more important than people think. Our example is “SEO tool,” and using Ubersuggest, we can see that the monthly searches for this keyword are 12.100. We also see CPC, which gives you the average cost per click using CPC (cost per click/AdWords). PD = paid difficulty, but the most important part is the SD = SEO difficulty. “Seo tool” has a difficulty of 67.
Anything higher than 20 is extremely hard for a new site. If you run an older site, already have visitors, and so on, then it becomes easier, but anything higher than 20 will still be hard. So 67 is almost like forgetting about it, but there is a twist that you can read about under my thoughts, good and bad.
You can also see keywords ideas that ubersuggest suggest for you. If I scroll down, I can see “SEO tools YouTube” with an SD of 18 and 480 volume, and that's much easier than 67.
One thing I really miss is competition options when you search for a keyword. Let me show you how Semrush has:
As you can see, Semrush lets you see the SERP for every keyword. This means you can see who ranks 1-10 or 11-20 in Google searches. In this example, “SEO tool,” zapier.com ranks as number 1. Ubersuggest is not as good as Semrush when it comes to in-depth keyword research, but again, price…
SEO Audit
The SEO audit feature gives your website a score. It looks at traffic, keyword use, backlink info, and finds SEO problems. You'll learn how to fix these issues. This tool shows where you can do better and helps increase your site's rank in Google searches.
Also, it tracks how keywords perform over time. You can pick dates to see changes in rankings. This helps understand which actions improved your site's visibility online.

Competitor Analysis
Ubersuggest Competitor Analysis is really good. In fact, it's close to Semrush and Hrefs. Their monthly visit volume is a bit off if you compare it to Semrush but it is good enough to get an idea.
Ubersuggest is even better in some ways. . For example, if Semrush or Ahrefs show a competitor's top pages, Ubersuggest gives more details on why those pages work. It tracks changes over time too.
This tool makes it easy to spot chances for improvement. By comparing key metrics like search volume and backlink profiles with leaders in your space, you can see where you stand.
Traffic Estimation
One of the best features, I think, is the Traffic overview. Here, you paste inn a domain name or URL to a specific page. In our example, we have used SEO Tool where Zapier.com ranks as nr 1.

You can see all the keywords that rank, and that send visitors to their homepage. Since its a spesific page you get focus on seo tool.

Now you can see you get other SEO keywords, their position, SD, Volume, and estimated visits.

Ubersuggest chrome extension
This is a really nice plugin. I made a search with our keyword seo tool and this is what I see:
Their free extension plugin shows SD, volume, and CPC and gives you insight into the search you make. It's brilliant because sometimes you are not at work but just browsing the Internet. Using this extension, you can suddenly see interesting keywords. It's like having a helper around every time you use Google search. Use it! Semrush doesn't have one 🙂
My thoughts after my Ubersuggest review, good and bad.
So, Should you use an SEO tool like Ubersuggest?
As I mentioned, Ubersuggest is a really good tool for the price. Especially if you choose their lifestyle. That package is brilliant for someone who just wants basics, to get started and build traffic. Once you understand how things work and if you are making money from your website, then perhaps you can look into Semrush or Hrefs. But as a cheap starting tool Ubersuggest is hard to beat.
Now, there is one major drawback that you don't find in other reviews.
Remember the SD we talked about?
Let's say you used an SEO tool as your keyword. It is way too hard with an SD of 67, but then you found “SEO tools YouTube.”
This keyword has an SD of 18, which is doable. So you start writing, but you end up with no traffic. Why? Well, next to the SD, it shows three months, and you get some sybol that means an update.

Now you can see SD has changed from 18 to 71, making this keyword extremely difficult, and this seems to be consistent with almost all keywords I have tested.
This makes finding keywords with ubersuggest worthless if they don't show accurate data! Why Niel Patel??
I really wanted Ubersuggest to be almost as good as Semrush or Hrefs since I am voting for this software since it's priced more reasonably than others. But is it worth it?
Yes, for the money, it's still good. You can always update the keywords, and Semrush is showing keywords with low SD, but really, they are not. So I guess all SEO tools have their weaknesses. If you can afford Semrush, hrefs then go for them, but if you just want one tool that has loads of features, then yes, Ubersuggest is still a good tool, and if they fix this one irritating thing, then it will be amazing for its pricepoint.
Also, I really like ubersuggest knowledge base. That's basically shit loads of blogs written to help you understand and use their functions. That I have to say is top of the class.
