best a2 hosting alternatives

best a2 hosting alternatives

The best a2 hosting alternatives are chemicloud, scalahosting, and rocket.net.

I am sure there are other hosting companies that can match A2 and the one I am mentioning, but for me, these are the best alternatives.

It's also important to remember that A2 offers shared hosting, VPS hosting, and cloud. So you can't compare A2 hosting vs. a competitor and say this one is better since it depends on what you are looking for.

Is your budget as low as possible, for example, $3 per month, or can you manage $25/mo?

Chemicloud shared hosting starts at $2.95/mo, but I will compare using their Turbo plan at $4.95 since it's their best value-for-money deal.

A2 Hosting vs. Chemicloud

When you compare A2 hosting to Chemicloud, their plans are similar. A2 is better for storage since you get unlimited storage, but 40GB at chemicloud should be enough for most users. Chemicloud also offers Redis for Object cache vs memcached on A2.

Regarding speed, both use LiteSpeed servers, meaning you also get the Litespeed plugin for free.

One notable difference lies in their WordPress plans. A2 hosting starts at $11.99/mo, while Chemicloud offers shared hosting & WordPress hosting for a more budget-friendly $4.95/mo. This affordability makes Chemicloud an attractive option for many.

A2 Hosting and Chemicloud are known for their packed features. They are both fast, offer daily backups, and provide LiteSpeed servers.

One negative aspect of A2 is that their network seems to have issues. They promise 99.9% uptime, but if you look at their https://a2status.com/, you can clearly see there is a lot of maintenance going on.

Note

In the web hosting industry, maintenance does not count as downtime. A web host that performs extensive maintenance will have downtime even if it promises 99.9% uptime.

One major difference is that they have a data server in Asia. This is a huge plus if most of your visitors are not from the US or Europe.

Overall, I would pick Chemicloud. It costs less, offers better hardware and features, Cloudflare, more data servers, and the best support in the industry. You should pick A2 hosting over Chemicloud if you need more than 40GB of storage or if your visitors are from Asia.

However, my favorite shared hosting provider is Chemicloud. Read my full review of chemicloud here

A2 Hosting vs. ScalaHosting

Managed WordPress hosting around $10-$15 is where you start seeing major differences. First of all, Scala hosting offers Unlimited websites, but A2 hosting with its RUN plan only offers 1 website. Even if you go for their Jump plan, you get five websites. To get most stuff Unlimited, you must move up to their FLY plan, which will cost you $28.99/mo.

This is strange since on a shared plan, you get unlimited, but when you pay more, you only get one.

A2 Hosting offers data centers in Asia, so if your visitors are from Asia, then A2 Hosting is an option, but I have to say Scalahosting offers much more, and on top of this, they also have data centers in Asia.

Note that Scala hosting offers many different shared hosting plans, starting at $2.95, but I am using their Entry Cloud plan to compare. If you don't want to pay $14.95/mo, Chemicloud offers better options than Scala at the lower plans.

Scalahosting offers great support (so does A2), but I feel Scala is just a bit better. Their live chat is easy to use, and talking to a human takes seconds.

I don't think A2 hosting and their Run plan at $11.99 even come close to Scala. It's worth paying some extra bucks to get Scala's great deal: free domain, unlimited websites, 50GB SSD storage, Scalable, open LiteSpeed servers, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited databases, and Emails. On top of this, you get Ngix, which is faster than Appache, Redis, free SSL, QUIC, cloud CDN, and NVMe SSDs.

For me, Scalahosting is the best host for unlimited websites for those willing to pay $10-$20/mo. So, if you run multiple sites, don't think about it; move over to Scala hosting. I don't think A2 hosting even comes close to Scala hosting, so I believe Scalahosting is a far better alternative than A2 hosting. A2 Hosting vs. Rocket.net

The A2 hosting FLY plan is excellent for $28.99/mo. You get unlimited websites, unlimited NVMe storage, 8GB RAM ++, and much more. It's great. There is just one problem. Rocket.net web hosting is the best-managed WordPress provider in the world, and it's only $25/mo.

The downside of Rocket.net is that for $25/mo, you only get one website, 50GB bandwidth, and 10GB storage. On the other hand, you get free Cloudflare Enterprise, 32 CPU cores, and 128 GB RAM. You also get Redis, state-of-the-art security (Imunify360), and daily backups.

One of Rocket.net's key advantages is its flexible payment system. You can easily upgrade or pay for the resources you use as you go. This means that even if you exceed 50 GB bandwidth or storage, you can always pay for any additional resources you need, giving you full control over your expenses.

With Cloudflare Enterprise, you get the fastest CDN in the world, making your site load fast no matter where your visitor comes from. It's already “installed” and set up, so there is no additional work you need to do.

Rocket.net, for $25, is a fantastic deal. I use it on testandreviews.com and for my main sites. Scalahosting entry plan for sites that require less power since I get unlimited websites, so if you have $25 to spend, then Rocket is the way to go.

The A2 Hosting FLY plan is also great for $28.99 /mo but does not offer much more than Scala hosting at $14.95.

So there you have my best A2 hosting alternatives. If you want to pay as little as possible but still get as much power as possible, then chemicloud is the way to go. If you want more power, unlimited websites then Scalahosting is my recomandation. But, if you need a lot of wordpress or WooCommerce power then Rocket.net webhosting will beat anything out there. The price is insane. Imagine you get Cloudflare enterprise with 310 locations for free, making your site super fast. Read my full review of Rocket.net here
