My Honest Scala Hosting Review 2024 – What a Great Place to Host Your Multiple Websites

sscalahosting

Welcome to my Scala Hosting Review 2024.

This review will focus on Scalahosting entry point to cloud hosting. It's supposed to offer excellent speed, unlimited websites, and open-source caching.

I am excited to see how this will work out since an unlimited website differs significantly from what I usually see in managed WordPress and cloud services. The most common deals around $15-$25 are 1-3 websites. So, if you have ten blogs, you usually go with shared hosting, where I strongly recommend chemicloud (check out my review). But In theory, Scala hosting should offer even more power, so this will be an exciting review.

My best pick for multiple websites

Scalahosting

  • Entry cloud plan for only $13.46/mo
  •  50GB NVMe SSD, 2gb rab/2cpu core, free CND
  • Unlimited websites, LiteSpeed web servers, and free LiteSpeed plugin.

Scala hosting review Key Takeaways:

  • Scala Hosting offers a shared hosting plan from $2.66, but I recommend Entry WordPress Cloud for $13.46/mo
  • Their primary offering is managed cloud VPS hosting, cheap web hosting, brilliant customer support, and rich hosting features ++
  • They offer great speed after some optimizations.
  • Scala is one of the best hosting companies. Scalahosting offers more than its competition does.

ScalaHosting Prices

Scala offers managed cloud VPS, web hosting, WordPress, and email hosting. My review focus will always be the best deal, and for Scala, that's Entry Cloud at $13.46/mo for 36M. Sign up for 12 months; prices jump to $17.96/mo, and one month is $29.95/mo.

They also offer managed AWS VPS hosting, reseller hosting, managed clusters, free domain names, and free SSL.

Scala Hosting features

key features

You get a fantastic deal if you choose the Scala hosting entry cloud WordPress package. Free domain, free SSL, unlimited websites, unlimited databases, daily backups, real-time Malware protection, priority support, dedicated IP, openlitespeed (LiteSpeed web servers, for which you must pay extra), ++ more fun. Since the list Iis so long, I am not going to mention all of them, but here are the one I like the most

  • HTTP/3 support
  • Open Litespeed + free litespeed cache plugin
  • 2 cpu cores/ 2gb ram + guranteee you have enough
  • Unlimited websites, emails, databases (email gets dedicated ip)
  • Free SSL
  • Nginx support (faster than Apache)
  • Free cloudflare CDN
  • Branding & whitelabel

OpenLiteSpeed vs LiteSpeed Web Server

Main difference:

OpenLiteSpeed

OpenLiteSpeed, our free, open source web server, is most frequently used for individual sites that don't change often. This is because OpenLiteSpeed requires a restart to load any new .htaccess file.

LSWS Enterprise

LiteSpeed Web Server, Enterprise edition, is ideal for shared hosting environments, where updates are frequent. LiteSpeed Web Server autodetects changes to .htaccess and adjusts as necessary without restart.

Openlitespeed is included in plan, but you can choose to upgrade.

They have four different options, and the lowest price is LiteSpeed web servers for up to 5 domains with a guarantee of 8GB RAM, that will increase the monthly cost to $24.95. If you have many domains and cost is not a big of issue, then you should go for the unlimited website version. This will cost $40.95/mo if you sign up for 36 months.

Scala hosting speed test

This is what I always look forward to, the speed test using the movearoundsite. Movearoundsite.com is meant for testing and is a heavy, not-optimized website. I always test with this site and never update it. This means when I try webpagespeed, you can compare directly with other web hosts.

After a clean WordPress install and upload of movearoundsite, I made my first speed run:

As you can see, without any form of optimization, Scala performs just okay. However, I talked to support, and I noticed that the OpenLitespeed web server was not active. You have to go into what they call Spanel; this is your admin control and looks different than Cpanel. From here, you can activate OpenLiteSpeed.

So what about speed? Well, this is my second run after I activated OpenLiteSpeed.

Performance is now good but not brilliant. So what else can we do?
As I have mentioned in other reviews, you can use the LiteSpeed plugin when you have LiteSpeed servers.
After I installed and activated the LiteSpeed plugin, clicked on presets and made sure Advanced was picked, I then made a third speed test:

As you can see, we now have a top score. This is without the Cloudflare CDN you get for free. You should activate Cloudflare since you will get a more secure website, and Cloudflare will make sure your website is fast no matter where the visitors come from.

Note: With LiteSpeed, I have noticed that Elementor might not load. If this happens, try to adjust the settings to Essential. If that doesn't help, you can play around with the cache and see if anything helps; if not deactivate the plugin and activate Cloudflare CDN.

If you have any issues or questions about Cloudflare, then just contact their fantastic support.

Support – Industry leading?

Their support team is to Notch. I like that you can chat 24/7, and when you click the chat bubble, you get a human direct without clicking 50 times on different buttons. However, I do notice that my Entry Cloud package includes priority support. Does that mean everyone else doesn't get it? That's sad if that's the case, so I deduct one point from their support score. But if you choose my recommended plan, you will have fantastic support 24/7. Total score 9/10 (perhaps 10/10 if everyone gets the same)

What about their AWS managed hosting?

If you prefer to run your website on Amazon Cloud, then you have these options.

Since it's cloud-based, you can scale it up if you need more power with just a few clicks. You also get 24/7 support from trained experts. You also have a ticket reply with a response time of 15 minutes.

Scala Hosting E-Commerce Options

Scarla hosting is also a great option if you run a e-commerce site, specially if you run multiple sites. You can run 10 sites and still pay as low as $13.46/mo. Again, if you run multiple sites then Scala is the best option. If you run 1 Woocommerce site and want seriouse power then go with rocket.net but for a lower pricepoint and multiple sites then Scala hosting is the best option.

Scala hosting review Conclusion

My best pick for multiple websites

    Scalahosting

    • Entry cloud plan for only $13.46/mo
    •  50GB NVMe SSD, 2gb rab/2cpu core, free CND
    • Unlimited websites, LiteSpeed web servers, and free LiteSpeed plugin.

So, what do I think? As you already know, I really like Scala. It's the best host for multiple sites, low cost, scalable with their cloud solution, OpenLiteSpeed servers, paid LiteSpeed web servers if you want an upgrade, brilliant support, 100 page speed score, and lots of things are free, and unlimited.

You can't go wrong with Scarla hosting. This is a top hosting provider.

The bottom line is:

1. If you want the best host for the lowest cost yet powerful, then go with shared hosting at Chemicloud. Read my review on them.

2. If you want to upgrade from shared, then cloud hosting is powerful, has high uptime, and is scalable. Scala offers the best bang for your buck and should be your nr one pick in the $10-$20/mo range.

3. If you want even more power, Rocket.net offers what I think is the fastest-managed WordPress hosting. But then you get 1 website for $25, so if you have multiple sites, then it gets more expensive.

Scalahosting offers a money-back guarantee, so test them out and see if they are as good as my review says.

/Until next time, stay safe and enjoy your life
